M. James Mason
M. James Mason was called to the bar in 1986 and was a founding partner of the firm originating in 1990. Mr. Mason is now a senior partner in Mason Poratto-Mason LLP, with its current complement of highly trained professionals, since 2003.
Mr. Mason has litigated hundreds of personal injury cases since 1986, with a focus on personal injury, slip and falls and motor vehicle accidents. Mr. Mason also takes on commercial, estate litigation, wills and powers of attorney and real estate.

Adam Mason
Adam Mason has a keen interest in providing practical and reasoned solutions to clients’ legal issues. He has broad experience in various areas of law as a result of his time working as the judicial law clerk for the Northwest Region of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and as a law student at a full-service law firm in Thunder Bay, Ontario. His areas of focus include civil ligation, estate litigation, corporate commercial litigation, wills and estates, trust law, intellectual property law, administrative law, indigenous legal issues, and constitutional law. Adam’s time as a judicial law clerk provides him with a unique perspective on the intricacies of the litigation process and how best to deal with each client’s individual case.
Adam graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Rhetoric, and he received his Master’s degree in English Literature from Carleton University. Before attending law school, Adam worked as an Archival Assistant at the Laurentian University Archives where he gained a wealth of insight into the diverse history of the community in Sudbury, Ontario, and surrounding areas.
Adam received his Juris Doctor from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in 2018. He received the Dean’s Medal as the highest-ranking student in his graduating class. He also received awards as the highest-ranking student overall in his second year of law school and as the second highest-ranking student overall in his first year. Additionally, Adam received awards for first class standing in Contract Law, Tort Law, Constitutional Law, Civil Practice, and Aboriginal Law.
Adam was called to the Bar in Ontario in September 2018.
