ADAM MASON

Adam Mason provides practical and reasoned solutions to clients’ legal issues. He has broad experience in various areas of law as a lawyer practicing in Sudbury, Ontario, and from his time working as a judicial law clerk for the Northwest Region of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Adam graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English Literature and Rhetoric, and he received his Master’s degree in English Literature from Carleton University. Before attending law school, Adam worked as an Archival Assistant at the Laurentian University Archives where he gained a wealth of insight into the diverse history of the communities in Sudbury, Ontario, and surrounding areas.
Adam received his Juris Doctor from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in 2018. He received the Dean’s Medal as the highest-ranking student in his graduating class. He also received awards as the highest-ranking student overall in his second year of law school and as the second highest-ranking student overall in his first year. Additionally, Adam received awards for first class standing in Contract Law, Tort Law, Constitutional Law, Civil Practice, and Aboriginal Law.

SAMANTHA PRESCOTT

Samantha began her legal career in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 2016 where she worked for a mid-sized full-service law firm. Samantha has significant litigation experience at all levels of court and has successfully argued motions and trials before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Divisional Court. Samantha’s main areas of practice include family law, child protection law, real estate, wills and estates, and estate litigation. Samantha also has significant experience with various matters at the appellate level and has worked on appeals before the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal of Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Samantha is passionate about working with children and families. She began her career in Sudbury as a teacher with the Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) where she taught French-immersion students at the primary and junior levels. She continues to supply teach with the RDSB and continues to be involved in the field of education as a long-time volunteer with the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN). Samantha is a panel lawyer with Legal Aid Ontario and is a member of the Family Law and Child Protection panels. Samantha also works regularly at the Family Law Information Center on Cedar Street.
Samantha obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree, from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. She completed her Juris Doctor at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 2017.

M. JAMES MASON (Retired)

M. James Mason was called to the bar in 1986 and was a founding partner of the firm originating in 1990. Mr. Mason is now a senior partner in Mason Poratto-Mason LLP, with its current complement of highly trained professionals, since 2003.
Mr. Mason has litigated hundreds of personal injury cases since 1986, with a focus on personal injury, slip and falls and motor vehicle accidents. Mr. Mason also takes on commercial, estate litigation, wills and powers of attorney and real estate.

Lise Poratto-Mason has extensive experience in both the public and private practice of law. Her experience as a former Municipal and Hospital Solicitor and in private practice enables her to provide legal advice and services in municipal, health care, institutional and labour and employment law. Ms. Poratto-Mason also maintains an active real estate and wills and estate practice.
